Provides an introduction to the US Air Force and US Space Force, hopefully encouraging students to pursue a career or at least seek additional information to be better informed about the role of the Department of the Air Force. The course allows students to examine general aspects of the military, leadership, benefits, and opportunities for commissioned officers. The course also lays the foundation for becoming a member of the Armed Forces by outlining our heritage and values. All textbooks and special reference materials are supplied by the department.
Designed to encourage physical fitness, improve self-confidence, and encourage teamwork. AFROTC Cadets will take the Air Force Physical Fitness Assessment in accordance with Air Force Instruction 36-2905. Once classified as a cadet, Physical Fitness Gear (clothing) will be issued and worn in accordance with Air Force Instruction 36-2903.
Provides the foundation for both leadership and team building. Sample topics include listening, followership, and problem solving efficiently. All of these concepts will be applied in team building activities. Though the theme of this course is ?Team and Leadership Fundamentals,? you are also expected to demonstrate basic verbal and written communication skills at the end of this course. The goal is for cadets to have a more in-depth understanding of how to effectively lead people, and provide them with the tools to use throughout their detachment leadership roles. Secondly, cadets will hone their writing and briefing skills. All textbooks and special reference materials are supplied by the department.
Comprehend the basic elements of national security policy and processes. The student should know basic Air Force and Space Force domain operations as well as understand selected roles of the military in society and current domestic and international issues affecting the military profession. Cadets should understand the responsibility, authority, and functions of an Air Force commander and selected provisions of the military justice system. This course will further develop the ability to communicate both written and orally. All textbooks and special reference materials are supplied by the department.
