The goal of this course is to help graduate students in public health and health sciences write effective grant proposals with a specific focus on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant funding mechanisms and requirements. We will cover all aspects of the proposal-writing process from Identifying a Topic and Choosing the Right Funding Source continuing through the grant proposal section by section. Fellowship Grants and Career Development Awards, targeted for doctoral and postdoctoral students, will be covered. The grant submission and resubmission process will be described. Students will participate in a Mock NIH Review Panel.
