Intermediate study of the principles and vocabularies of classical ballet. Emphasis on correct alignment, whole body movement, musicality, and embodiment of performance style. Also taught at Mount Holyoke and Smith.
"Beginning-Intermediate" study of the principles and vocabularies of classical ballet. Emphasis on correct alignment, whole body movement, musicality, and embodiment of performance style. Pointe work included as appropriate. Students must have a solid basic training and knowledge of ballet vocabulary. Also taught at Mount Holyoke and Smith.
Course requires that individual BA and BFA candidates create an 8-12 minutes of original work, bringing it through all stages of production to concert performance. Students will take on all aspects of being creative director of their senior project; including auditions, casting, rehearsal schedule and overall creative process. In addition, students will be required to keep a written journal and also submit an in depth creative process research paper.
