This course examines value in the US healthcare delivery system. By introducing value as a concept we take on the issue of how to improve outcomes and the cost of healthcare delivery. We will think about how to measure value and understand the various stakeholder perspectives of value. We will examine ways to improve the value of healthcare delivery from the perspective of health systems, providers and policy makers. The notions of improvement, innovation and reliability to improve value will be core concepts discussed. We will have great readings, discussions and guests who are leaders in healthcare delivery sharing new approaches to improving value in healthcare.
