This is a Portuguese course specially designed for students who are already proficient
in Spanish (or another Romance language). Students will use their
previous knowledge of another Romance language to help them develop their
linguistic abilities in Portuguese. Similarities and differences between the
languages will be explored as a tool to promote fast and solid acquisition of communicative
skills in Portuguese. The
course will be conducted in Portuguese, and the dynamics inside and outside the
classroom will create opportunities for the students to actively listen, read,
write and speak in Portuguese
